Story Cast #68: Ginger Swaim

On this Monday's episode of Story Cast, Rebecca & Traci chat with Ginger Swaim. Ginger shares her journey with life-altering anxiety that began three years ago and something she is learning to continuously walk through to this day.

Ginger is a wife to an amazing and funny man and mother to two wonderful boys. She is a nurse but currently stays home with her two boys.

Ginger shares her journey with life-altering anxiety that began three years ago and continues to be a struggle. She has a passion for encouraging other women that struggle with anxiety. Her desire is to help women know that they aren't broken or alone, and that their struggle with anxiety doesn't mean their relationship with the Lord is broken. She wants to give a voice through her testimony that God loves you and will help you through the struggle of anxiety.

Books that have helped Ginger:

Soul Keeping by John Ortberg
The Rest of God by Mark Buchanan
When God Interrupts by M. Craig Barnes
The Hidden Life by Kitty Crenshaw and Catherine Snapp

Verses/passages that have also helped:

  • Lam 3
  • Isa 43 specifically 43: 18-19 “Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
  • The book of Psalms- great example of honesty with God
  • Ps 57:1 is one she prays when feeling very oppressed/fearful…"Be merciful to me, O god, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.”

Story Cast #65: Rebecca Renfrow

Today, Traci puts Rebecca on the hot seat. Rebecca opens up about a huge part of her life as a mom. She shares the story of her son Gavin. God's grace, perfect plan for our lives and parenting are the hot topics of today's episode.

Gavin's story is unlike any we have heard here on Story Cast. Being his mom is one of my greatest adventures. Because of him, I have become a woman that sees the amazing gift of God's grace daily, God's commitment to never give us more than we can handle, and His faithfulness in always showing up in our lives in huge ways.

I hope you hear God's message He specifically has for you through parts of mine and Gavin's story.

Blessings,
Rebecca

Story Cast #64: Jaclyn Hatcher

On this Monday's episode of Story Cast, Rebecca & Traci chat with Jaclyn Hatcher. Jaclyn is a blogger, mom of three boys and works for Jennifer Rothschild.

We had a great time getting to know Jaclyn Hatcher on today's episode of Story Cast.

We chat about everything from how she came to work for Jennifer Rothschild, author and speaker, to being a boy mom to three, yes THREE, very active boys.

Jaclyn's blog is titled "Confessions of a Misfit Minister's Wife" and we personally think this title describes Jaclyn and her charismatic personality so well.

Jaclyn describes herself this way in her most recent blog post..."I laughed out loud because I often say I don’t fit. Not completely, anyway. I’ve always been an outgoing introvert (which is possible, by the way) who loves alone time just as much as lunch with friends, and a long hot bath spent reading and reading (and reading some more) just as much as going to the movies with my boys, but none of that quite as much as I love a date with my husband.  Going to parties kind of stresses me out, but planning a party?!? I’m all in. I’m about as overly-sensitive as they come. Bossy. Controlling. A quiet observer who somehow can’t keep her mouth shut. I think it, I say it. And then, I often regret it. But then somewhere in there, typically bigger than most anything else is this worrier-people-pleasing-sensitive-to-others person who knows that most of those traits aren’t beneficial to me or anyone else."

You can check out the entire post here

We hope you enjoy our chat with Jaclyn as much as we did!
